Steven Powell
Steven Powell joins Arkansas Christian Academy for his first year, bringing with him more than 27 years of experience in Arkansas Public Schools before retiring in May 2024. Over the course of his career, he has coached multiple sports, including basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and softball.
Steven has been married to his wife, Jennifer, for 24 years, and together they have one child, Peyton. His greatest joy outside of coaching is leading his family as a Godly husband and father.
As a coach, Steven’s philosophy is rooted in teaching athletes how to work as a team, always placing God first. He desires for his players to grow not only in their athletic abilities but also in their character, so that when they step into adulthood, they will understand what it means to be team players in life and to show Jesus to others.
Throughout his career, Steven has celebrated many athletic accomplishments. His teams have won multiple regional championships, reached several state semi-finals, and, most notably, in 2002, his Senior Boys Basketball team went 39–0 and captured the 2A State Championship in Arkansas. While those victories stand out, Steven considers his greatest achievement to be his walk with Christ—accepting Jesus as his personal Savior and living a life where God is always first.
Steven looks forward to continuing his calling at ACA, where he can use his passion for sports and faith to impact the next generation of athletes.
